I am currently with a design firm in Toronto as you all know. It’s a small power firm, everybody is good at one thing. I really enjoy the people i work with and our interoffice conversations are really explicit and fun. We get away with murder. My daily duties include IT/Hosting geek, development, design, print, running to the printers, getting my boss starbucks, and trying to look busy.
I am really interested in working with more of my major (obviously Flash). I was approached by a web/video firm in the city here and they wanted me to come in and talk to them. They offered me the same amount of money I currently make.
They work with a lot of video and streaming, as well as pushing the envelope of what is possible with Flash. This interests me for obvious reasons. However is it worth leaving my comfy, feet on the desk job to go to this firm?
Is it worth the unstable nature of a new job? or should i stay here as they force me to work on things like design that I’m not really good at? I’m going there tonight because they drafted me up an offer. I’m going to barter with them but just thought I should get some of your guys input on the ordeal. If i can swindle 10k more than what i currently make, i will take it, otherwise i will think about it.
let me know guys.
