Not bad increase the navigation font by 2px and give it like 4 px padding so its a larger clickable area.
Other than it looks nice. I like your green animation at the front.
Try adding a 1px white line under the green area.
Pretty good. I agree with what Templarian said about the navigation and the 1px white border underneath the animation to give it a “lip” so to say. But be sure to make it a top-border on your content area so it’s there on all your pages. :thumb2:
Personally, I like the way the site’s content flows. Although, I think the first background gradient right below the green animation is a bit to dark to start off (I’m guess it’s around #888?). I would try starting that gradient off with a lighter gray (like the footer gray). Also, on the footer, the lighter green font on the gray background is a little tough on the eyes, although that could be just me.
On the examples page, rebuild it using javascript and CSS. You can get the exact same effect, and allow users to save the images the way they expect to be able.
If you do ever use a flash gallery again (which doesn’t really fit into this project) always stream the images in the background. I don’t like clicking on something and seeing another loading when it should just load in the background.
//edit: What does clicking on smart light in the home do? in the text “a new product” part.
Thanks everyone for yoour suggestions. I really enjoy your feedback!
@ Templarian - navigation is made of images (not font) I think I ll make them a little bigger
@ Fidodo + Sirisian -It was in the assignement requirements to make a Flash gallery…
Also @ Sirisian this is an CSS property
acronym {
color:#39AD01;
border-bottom:1px dotted #39AD01;
cursor:pointer;
}
do you think is confusing, I mean that it can be mistaken as a non-working link?
^Its not an acronym… but if your keeping it remove the cursor pointer.
maybe I don’t see the point. It just says the same thing when I hover over it? I’m not a web developer so if it’s a web 2.0 thing nevermind. Sadly I was confused. I thought for a second it was like a news link or something then I viewed the source.
@ Templarian - If you also say so… its then confusing…<cursor pointer will be removed>
(So annoying I cannot reply with quote in Firefox 3.0 - Is this a bug or what?)
[ot]Yea turn it off in User CP till kirupa or vBull releases a patch. Very bottom of edit options.[/ot]
I’d decrease the large green “sub-header” by perhaps a third as I feel it is taking up to much attention from my eye. I do understand that the idea is to promote the green aspect of your site, but still seems a bit much to me. Otherwise, the site looks just fine.
Crank the heading sizes to differentiate them from the body type. I think you could trim 50-60 px off the header to allow more important content to sit closer to the top.
The type animation looks great :thumb:

Pretty Near… I agree what dark motion Said, imo you can bring the navigation to center, and decrease the flash animation’s height 10 px. Over all very neat. Pictures aren’t good in the ABOUT page
