This was going to be 0.9.4, but they fixed so many of the bugs that it’s the Pre-Release of 1.0, check it out and report any bugs you find or forever hold your peace.

I just downloaded it and installed with no problems. I simply LOVE this browser. The servers are a little busy at the moment, but it shouldn’t take but a few minutes:

As for the installation and the skeptics:

The install was painless. There’s a few things different on appearance, and IMO, very nice changes. Overall though, it doesn’t look or feel much different if you were already on version .9.

Things I noticed right away:

  1. FF 1.0PR can be installed in a different folder than the default, so you can continue to have and use your older versions.
  2. Install will overwrite desktop, quicklaunch, and Start menu shortcuts to the new version instead of creating duplicates.
  3. Older versions cannot be opened at the same time that 1.0PR is open. You’ll have to close all browser instances of one before opening the other.
  4. Plugins such as flash, shockwave, etc shouldn’t have to be reinstalled.
  5. All browser settings, bookmarks, cookies, history, and other personal settings are automatically imported.
  6. Total install time less than a minute.

Seems to work all fine and dandy here… The GMail notifer works so I’m happy with the new version… sad that the skin I had on doesn’t have a 1.0PR version. Oh well… I’ll live… :slight_smile:

I think I should start a new thread so that people really can see this in fresh light. I have avoided FireFox because I didn’t want the hassle of getting used to a new browser or dealing with a half-done browser that doesn’t work so well. I was a very anti-firefox person up until last night when my IE got hijacked again by some stupid trojan. I have anti-virus software and the whole spyware removal and watch kits and I still got IE hijacked… so I said screw it, went to firefox’s site installed it and haven’t look back.

I am very happy with it thus far and would recommend people check it out.

actually i’m using mozilla for all this time n the iiieeee just for updating my WinDO$ and till now its works fine with my system…no trojan, bugs n whatever…

I’ve used Firefox, and previously Mozilla since the beginning. Mozilla has it’s uses, but Firefox is perfect!

ThunderBird is nice too.
