i was wondering how can i make flames like the ones on this fla, someone sent it to me, i know it is done on photoshop, but how, which plugin is being used and how can i export the sequence…?
Im not sure what program was used to make that effect honestly.
It appears to me that the animation was stolen from flashlevel.com possibly via a decompiler. It seems to be the EXACT same method as used on flashlevel (look and all).
Maybe whoever got this for you can steal the rest of the site for you as well :-\ (angry sarcasm), but as far as how it was done in the first place, no clue.

Yeah, thats exactly why I am against decompilers. Sure they can be highly useful for recovering YOUR OWN files, but people use them to steal other peoples stuff, which is pointless because you can see what was done, but you still have no clue how it was done in the first place and in most cases of AS, how it works at all.
But this thread is not a discussion of decompilers, there are a billion views on the subject, so that will end here, no point in dragging it on, it has been discussed before on the forum, so if anyone feels the need to discuss it they can run a search for the older threads.
Anyone else no a solution to this question? (I am quite interested myself)
Well if you double click on the MC that contains that flame animation, you can see that it was animated frame by frame like a GIF.
You can create the flame animation by using photoshop and image ready to create the GIF and then export the GIF into flash and have it placed inside a MC like that example posted.

But the question is… how is that “flame” effect done in Photoshop so that you can make it turn out like it does in the Flash movie?
I would probably start out with a thin white line then use the smudge tool to flare it out and use a lot of Gaussian Blurs to create the frame by frame animation.
It would also be easier to start out with a large image and then scale the entire sequence down after you’re done.
If you look closely at flashlevel’s file, it doesn’t quite loop perfectly and skips a little.
