Flash Fonts....?

How do I get fonts to work on a user’s computer if they don’t that specific font?

I’m trying to use a pixel font but I tried it on my friend’s computer and it defaulted to Times New Roman or something and screwed it all up…How do I fix this? Make them in graphics?! :puzzle:

embed your fonts.
So, when you type something on the screen, look at the properties panel and click on Character…

Well I know how to do that…

Sorry I forgot to say. I want the fonts to be Dynamic so that they are crisp and clear…embedding them just makes them the same as static.

In that case, you pretty much have no choice but to use Device Fonts, or upgrade to MX2004… it’s one of those annoying things in Flash MX. If you upgrade, that problem will be somewhat solved and you’ll have a new list of annoying things to compain about

Hmm…alright thanks…

But i just wanted to know…How did http://www.fontsforflash.com use their fonts on the site? They are all custom fonts there… :h:

some fonts just display better than others. That is the whole reason for their site, and the whole reason Macromedia pushed for AntiAliased fonts in their new release.

what i think you need to do is make sure your text boxes are on
whole number coordinates.

You need to embed the font, as stated earlier, but then make sure the text box is on whole coordinates.

change all you text X,Y to .0 =)

Alright I’ll give that a whirl and get back to you.

Thanks. :smirk:

Also the fonts on fontforflash are made for flash, they’re bitmap fonts.

Run a search on Google for “Bitmap Fonts” if you’re interested in getting some free ones.

personally, I buy all my fonts now. But, here’s 1 good link to get
you started –
