ok, i’m considering trying out gentoo (already a linux convert, using fedora core) as i hear its pretty good. HOWEVER i also know that its a source based distro and that is kinda putting me off atm (compiling EVERYTHING would take forever :(). Anyway, if anyone here uses it would you be able to tell me how long it took to install on your machine and what the specs are so i can see wether or not its worth trying it. (i’m an obsessive tinker so i like the idea of a source based distro but i really dont like the idea of a long install :()
