how do i get a shape to repeat like that in the bg…
also, how would i make multiple shapes on 1 layer have a gradient effect, (the yellow to red) across the letters and girls…
im guessing your asking about how to do those things in photoshop right?
1: in photoshop there are a few ways to repeat a graphic, and one way basically you need to capture that graphic, the leaf in this instance by making a selection around the object then going to edit / define pattern. Then with the shape captured as a pattern you select the layer you want to fill with the tiled image, go to edit/fill and select pattern in the drop down menu use:… open the custom pattern drop down and select the shape you just captured. Hit ok and it should fill your selected layer with the pattern as a tile. Now if you want this tile to tile seamlessly with a html page then that requires other steps.
2: again in photoshop? to get the gradient on multiple layers as one item you can a) have all the items on my layer by merging them to one layer and then using a layer effect to apply the gradient or b) create a layer adjustment ‘gradient fill’ above all those items to create the same gradient effect across multiple layers.
yes i was thinkin html… like i know how to define pattern… but how do i get it to square up like this as a repeated bg image…

also, how do i stager the pattern, like i know i go to custom shape tool… and set it up on a new document with a transparent background… but how can i get the spacing perfect like that…
also how would i do thick diagonal lines… im sure its the same idea…
lol…hold up, have you looked around for tutorials? even tried searching diagonal lines. I could sit here and write how to do it but i would just be repeating myself and so many other that have explained how to do it. try searching ‘diagonal lines’ on kirupa’s search and then if you don’t get it try google, there is so many tutorials out there for this it’s silly, there is even a website that creates diagonal line tiles for you.

all i got were the same tutorials on how to make tiny thin scan lines…
