Help with psp5.0

When ever I put an image on an transparent background, its transparent as a psp file. But when I save it to a gif, jpeg,or png it shows with a white background.

I cut all the white background away from the image and place the new image on a transparent bk and save,I still get a white bk.

What am I missing.Thanks

hmm im not familiar with psp
but in PhotoShop
i know that if you are saving as a gif, you have to make sure that transparency option is checked otherwise it will just save as a white background
another thing may be that you are saving the picture with a matte, but im not too sure about that one.

good luck

jpegs can’t be transparent…

Chances are, as Kaotic said, you need to check the transparancy box, somewhere in the export options…

Rev

For your reference…

*.jpg = NO transparency supported

*.gif = ONLY full transparency (no partial) supported

*.png = ALL levels of transparency supported

Peace

Thanks,I knew about the file extensions.I will post to the psp newsgroup and let you know what I find out.

I figured it out.Duh, so easy when you take the time.

In PSP you have to tell it to use existing transparency (in your preferences you might have it setup so this is not default) also you can tell it which colors you want transparent. In your case since it is not defaulting to existing transparency you will have to set the matte color. also with .gif
