Hey!
I am trying to find out from you more experienced programmers how to really learn programming.
Working with actionscript 3 is really the first language I have started to learn (about 6 months ago). But I think I am missing a basic background in programming in general. What would you recommend in terms of how to go about learning programming? What would you start with? What is the base knowledge I should be starting with and building up from?
I am not sure where to begin and I am open the any suggestions - such as what language I should start with, how I should go about learning programming from the base up if that means going to some school or reading certain books, getting special classes etc. How did you go about learning it.
I really want to build up to a point where I know my stuff and can get my projects done more fast and efficient.
I am in Los Angeles in case you know of a good place to learn from here.
