i dont understand this transparent area, i ll post the pic after this one.

sorry about posting the thread in installments

theres an alpha setting in the mixer panel. select your node in the gradient range, then in the mixer panel change its alpha

tah dah!

what do you not understand ?? seems simple to me, all ya gotta do is open the gradient dialog and chose a transparency for your color

note jaz is using Flash 5

Hey!

I opened up the fla and those are some cool graphics!

I used the eye dropper to get the color set up into the color mixer.

Like the linear one at the bottom is made with four colors!

I wasn’t able to figure out the cd shaped one. That one disappears when you open the symbol!?!

Just play around with them, they can be pretty self explanitory.

The CD-looking disc uses color effects to change its color from what you see when you open it to what it is on the main timeline.

That symbol uses the advanced settings which relates to the transform color object. You can read more about those effects here:
http://www.kirupa.com/developer/actionscript/tricks/colorobj.htm

Where in the fla did you see that? I read the tut a couple days ago and I thought it had to be a script to mod the colors. There’s no action script that I saw.

OooooOOOoo

I saw how they did it now. In the advanced drop down menu, overlooked that the first time through.

you can adjust colors either manually in the properties panel or in actionscript. Both the settings in the properties panel (effects panel in Flash 5) and those altered with the color object in actionscript are identical.

For MX, if you select on a symbol and look in the properties panel, there should be a dropdown for Color: [None] There you can choose from Brightness, Tint, Alpha and Advanced. The CD thing uses the advanced. Those properties are touched upon in the link I gave earlier.

Note that the color option is only available for symbols (movieclips, buttons and graphics) and not other shapes or groups.
