Honestlty i dont realy care about thanksgiving…u say its a conspiracy?! speaking of conspiricies, how about the conspiricy taht is the “mass media”
well, during that time it wasn’t really a democracy as the rich got rich and poor got poor and the middle stay in middle in fear of losing jobs, the American Dream wasn’t acheived by many
has much changed? the rich are still rich and poor are still poor and the middle simply go along with whatever the rich want…hmmmm cynical ain’t I
They teach little kids that the first English people to come to America and settle the colonies were the Puritans who were oppressed and had to leave England because of being hated.
In fact, they left because Puritanism is a branch of Christianity which believes that the Protestant church didn’t change enough from Roman Catholicism and that they should change more. They kept getting into fights with the Protestants trying to convert them or make them change their traditions even more. Eventually they got fed up and left England for America. There you have it, they were the oppressors!
wat!? this is beyond me but oh well i’ll just watch from a distance

I have, as well as a few other interesting docs.
The communal society of Europe is hardly a mysterym, or an unknown fact. Fudalism is rife with communistic ideas. It wasnt’ communism as Marx invisioned it… but hell there never has been a communism as Marx invisioned…
interesting facts about Thanksgiving, and Pilgrims.
-
The first celebration of Thanksgiving as a unified American holiday, didn’t take place until Lincoln’s term. The celebration, to take place on the last thursday of November was enacted by Lincoln as an attempt to repair the war torn states.

Pilgrims were due to go to Virginia colony, but bribed the captain of the Mayflower to take them (who only measured a minority of 10% of the total passengers) to take them to Plimouth rock. Thoughts on why vary, but the predominant conclusion is easy enough to understand. The land in Virginia was owned by the crown, and or other parties. The Plymouth colony was well documented as having failed in it’s previous developement. When the Pilgrims arrived the fields were already tilled, rock walls and buildings already constructed, AND the native population was already decimated by pleague from the previous colonists. (don’t they tell us that the pilgrims were the first to colonize plymouth rock?)

Thanksgiving is really just a recreation of Harvest festival which takes place all over Europe and has been for the last 3000+ years. The idea of giving thanks for the last fresh food you’re going to see in 6 months is not an “American” thing.
hmm… well I can’t think of any other interesting facts about Thankgiving… all in all it’s not one of my favorite holidays, as far as the tradition is concerned… but I like to eat, and I’m always thankful to God for what I’ve got.
I live in Chicago. I really wish I was in Europe. I am going to move there as soon as I get through High School. Even though I want to go to Harvard, I would give it up to live in Europe and go to college there. Oh well, I already gave this whole speech to someone earlier today and I can’t type it all again

Government conspiracy huh? Phil all I can say is you watch too much TV. No offense or anything, but you shouldn’t watch so many X-Files episodes.
Ohh well, So what did you eat this Thanksgiving?
Maybe the real answer here Mike is that you DON’T watch enough x files.
Phil… I read that article but fail to see how it relates to thanksgiving. Maybe I’m just being dense though.
