Sorry Ave, dissagree totally. Have another look at your history books. When the Brittish set up the first penal colony at Port Arthur the aborigines were considered animals, sub human and hunted like game.
ALSO David id like to add , those things you say while true have all happened to UK before you, before we were advanced enough to travel and do those things we were enslaved brutalised and tortured for centuries by ROMANS, SAXONS, VIKINGS etc in fact by the time we were commiting these acts pretty much all of the original indegenous people of the british isles had been wiped out or assimilated by other races…

Lest we forget why the United States is here today is because of how rotten the King of England was to not only the religious sects in England who he kicked out, but all subsequent settlers who moved to the New World looking to make a better life for temselves. The heaviest taxes in the British Empire were placed on their colonies around the world.
The US was born from rebels who decided that living under British rule wasn’t all that great. (I was told this in class the other day from a doctor of history) The reason the Roman Empire was so great was because when they conquered people, they let them keep their rituals, and the many parts of their herritage that made them who they were, so long as they obeyed Roman law and honored the Emperor. You say how much the British learned from the Romans, but they didn’t learn perhaps the most important part, how to RULE an empire.
England was not a great nation to be ruled by at all.
You also talk about how nasty the United States were towards native Americans but forget the US was former Brittains themselves!

And what person told you romans where tolerant ?? have they even read a history book…??

Do you really believe that rome got so big by caring and understanding and intergrating into society …of course not if you were not roman you were considered racially inferior and expendable, thus why most foreigners in rome ended up working for them as virtual slaves, or being ACTUAL slaves. and did he not mention how many nations and peoples the romans conquered and wiped out…please come back when you have read about this yourself and not quote some distant beardy lecturer who cannot answer my questions…

as for your point about the british i believe i did point out earlier how many other nations did far worse than we ever did, the spanish commited genocide not ONCE but TWICE i mean ok we were bast***s but we did at least enslave people which in those times was a blessing and preferable to being killed.
