How to get noticed

Wouldn’t you love to be able to post a specific, clear thread with concise information and links to your work; and get tons of useful, helpful critism?

Don’t you find it annoying that people with “Read me” and “my site” threads, with a link and no information about the purpose of the design (IE, no justification of design elements) receive twice the ammount of replies as your well presented, (Using actual spelling!) descriptive thread?

If you said yes to either of the above threads, then maybe we need to sort out some kind of system for critique help. If you’re one of the people who posts ‘my site’ threads, stop reading and sign out. Nah, nah! I don’t wanna hear it, go! :stuck_out_tongue:

What do you think?

People tend to just skip over long blocks of text and go straight to a website, and if the site is either really good or really bad it will get a lot of comments.

Great! So to get noticed people should keep any text short and sweet.

Good comment.

It might be nice to implement a rating system… but I don’t know if it can be done, other than just making a poll… Sometimes all you need is a friendly “Bump”, and people will notice the topic… if you post it when the site is slow, it may get burried by other posts before anyone else really notices it.

So keeping the thread alive by ‘bumping’ (Posting yourself to move the thread up) can help draw attention to a thread.

And guys, this isn’t just for me, I think these ideas can help out a lot of people who aren’t getting enough critism.

i think this really comes back to the person doing the post… just say what you’ve done, why, and what you want…

people like looking at work, and so if it’s in a clear, friendly post they will comment on it.

DDD told me , that running around naked can get you noticed.

lol :stuck_out_tongue:
