I am in the process of editing my website banner. And I want to edit the background layer, but not in the same layer, I want to add a fading grid in the banner. But when I create another layer for the grid, I HAVE to fill the layer in with something to actually edit it, and the fill will take away everything that is on the below layers. Isn’t there a way to still using the grid pattern but with the transparency still there?
And also, I recently bought Photoshop CS, it’s wonderful, but I have a little problem. In photoshop, if I wanted to place a piece of text somewhere, I could do it precisely and easily. But in CS when I try to move the text or whatever close to the sides or edges of the image, the text just moves itself to the very edge of the image, it won’t let me place the text where i want it precisely. Can anyone help me please?
