at the thai place where i get my lunch almost every day. i always call in and ask for red curry tofu. well today i come in and the guy hands me vegetable tofu. i tell him i ordered red curry tofu and he just goes off on me. he’s like “you don’t know what you’re talking about, you told me vegetarian tofu, etc.” and i’m like “no i didn’t, i ordered what i order here every day, why don’t you look at your pad and see what you wrote down when i called”. sure enough, it said “red curry tofu”. he STILL insisted that i was wrong to what i said “really it’s no problem, just get me what i paid for” and he starts raising his voice (the restaurant is full of people, btw). one of his coworkers comes over and takes over the whole situation. unlike him, she was very polite to me and said she would take care of the situation, then she told him something in thai (probably something like “stop *****ing” or similar).
i’ve worked at restaurants before and i try to be very nice everytime i come in cause i know how stressful it can get. but i don’t tolerate rudeness.
Yeah… i hear ya. Mistakes do happen, and for me (I work at McDonalds, and I’ve also worked at a few other places) even if its not your fault (the worker) you are still supposed to apologize and give the customer whatever they want, you aren’t supposed to raise your voice to them and tell them they were wrong, even if they were…
true that. true that. i know our clients here in the agency, sometimes they get *****y and try to make things the agency’s fault, so we have to cover our *** in everything we do.
I wish someone would yell at me like that in a busy place. I would just go off on them Especially if I knew I was right. These people have no right to yell at the customer if you werent rude to them - especially as a returning customer.
I worked in retail for like 7 years and I only yelled at a customer 2wice, both very warranted. The customer is right 99.99 percent of the time wether they are or not
i had a customer ***** at me once when i worked in chinese. he told me he’d never come back to the place and i told him, in a calm and collected manner that i didn’t care either way. got in trouble later with my manager. he started the talk “customer is always right” and i said “well this one wasn’t” and that was the end of the conversation. didn’t get fired either, which was nice.
so no, i’m not going to be the *****y customer, no matter how rude the other person is. it makes them even more mad when you’re calm and talk to them like you don’t give a ****.
I dont have the patience to work in food service ever again.
I have (and always had) a super short fuse. Especially with people who think they are better than you.
I worked at a wendys in High School and used to work in the drive through window. I got into so many arguments with customers it was insane.
One day I had this big fat tank of a lady yelling at me because her food or something wasnt fast enough.
I was in the process of handing her her huge coke (biggie cup size) and I forget what she said but I ultimatly told her where to go and how to get there. (Used the F-bomb about 20 times)
She threw the drink at me and I caught in in tact. I hucked it at her as hard as I could and it blew up on her face and soaked the inside of her car.
It was funny as hell. I never lost my jobe over it either.
I got yelled at one time because some lady’s kid was shorter than counter and she sent him up to get something and I ignored him, I couldn’t see him so I didn’t even know he was there. I had to get the manager because she wanted to get me fired or something, basically the manager calmed her down, and I got to hide out back until she left. My manager joked about it after she left.
Another time a guy called a coworker of mine a fudging retard and so he denied him service, and then guy asked to see the manager who also denied him service, but the in the mean time my coworker was laughing at the guy, which really pissed him off so my manager made my coworker apologize, which was pretty dumb.
I work at a pizza place and i constantly have to put up with peoples crap too. But luckily my boss is the greatest manager ever and we just make fun of everyone after they leave. It’s awesome.
i ****in hate it when these **** ***holes think they can march all over you because you work at a ****in’ fast food restaurant. I always was *****ed at for things that i never in did, godit, and it made me ****in’ sick of all that ****.
I guess my point is, if you’re going to post, don’t cuss so much, so we can all understand…
