Hi you guys, I coming into Flash slowly, it is really easy… =)
But I have a problem. I’m importing a menu button and when i look at it in normal Flash it looks like it should be. If I now look at it in the preview I always get on pixel on the right side and at the bottom cut. And one pixel more at the top and left side…
The Size is absolutly the same as in PS where I created it. What could be the prob?
I encounter that problem a lot when bring in graphics made in PS and what I do is give the graphic a transparent border of about 10-20 pixels all around, also make sure the height and width of your image are odd numbers and not even.
Go inside the button, click on the image to select it, press Ctrl B to break it apart, now use the marquee tool and select the extra areas and delete it to make the hit area smaller.
I had this problem also with some really small buttons I made in PS (nitty gritty pixelwork). I imported them in flash and they looked all wrong, like flash compressed them or something (even when ‘allow smoothing’ in the properties pannel was off ) .
The solution came when I imported them and then did: “trace bitmap” on them. set Colour treshold really low and the smallest area (or something…) to one pixel and also select ‘many corners’…
It still looked like a bitmap, but was rendered perfect when I published my swf.
