Importing via optimize

Hello all,

Just wonding, on average what is the better method to make my file smaller in flash. Bring in the graphics from photoshop (even draw the entire layout perhaps…??) or draw everything possible right in flash itself? Does one or the other usually make for a faster load? Thanks guys.

:tie:

anything you can have vector is usually “better”
…actually lemme find that one thread…

that touches a little bit some differences between vector (made in flash) and raster/bitmap (made in photoshop). There are actually a lot of comparisons online you could check out as well.

but I suggest only using photoshop bitmaps if you need to. This is for things such as blurs or family portraits. Otherwise, try to use vectors - drawn in Flash - as much as possible. Theyre much lighter in terms of file size

What optimaze will do for you is optimize your vector graphics greatly, getting rid of small inconsistencies and redundancies (or rather just reducing geometry) which can lighten up vector graphics, especially complex ones, greatly.

For raster/bitmap images, you’d need to play with size and compression. The smaller the less to download, the more compressed, the less to download.
