I keep seeing AI projects framed as productivity wins, but the internal incentive can be pretty different: fewer backfills, smaller teams, same roadmap. That feels especially messy when leadership treats a tool purchase like it cancels out headcount pressure.
Has anyone seen AI actually change how teams are staffed, or is it mostly being used to make the current workload look more survivable?
