Hiho all. I’m currently doing a course in college in e-media and I want to put a site online with my work and eventually get some clients. The problem for me is thinking of a name lol. So far I’m stuck on “JNS Studios” (The JNS being my initials) and a web address of www.jns-designs.com. I want something thats easy to type and isn’t hard to spell or anything but I’m crap at thinking up names and always think my names are up to scratch when everyone else thinks they suck :huh: :frowning: . Anyone got any comments on it?

do you want something relevant to yourself or to the design of the site…for instance an orange site could be called OrangeShine.com

give us some more details about your work or yourself or maybe a design style you had in mind for the site

or you could try picking a colour and then getting a dictionary and finding some cool different words for creative or design or something like silverideas or something like that…hmmm never mind, I think I’m taking silverideas.com :wink:

lol it sounds cool rabbell, the site is for just general web design work by me so at the minute, yeah, I want something related to my name but something that sounds sorta professional so that if I get good enough to get clients in the future I can continue to use the name then.

one of the biggest branding companies in the US is called ‘A Hundred Monkeys’

often abstract names are what catches in people’s head… putting words in a hat might be a bit excessive but as you have identified, you intials isnt going to inspire people…

lol at that name :P. I’d figured that about the whole initial thing but I want something that relates to me ponders. Putting names in a hat worked out funilly… :smiley:

This site might be of use. Just type in some words and it’ll come up with stuff. A lot of it sounds kinda stupid, but a few things pop out as feasible…

lol I like kirupas fiery idea. Also, a lot of names of businesses sounded stupid in the beginning so don’t worry about it too much.

billystar is right, people remember teh odd names easier then they remeber initials and stuff. or try like mixing your name with something you like to do. idk hope this helps.
