As for coming back… I can’t say I feel like that’s very likely. I have to come to grips with one of two things. Either is ok for Kirupa to be unable to enforce the rules upon some of our mods, or I have to find a way of not conversing on a social level at all. Neither one of those two options are ok in my book right now.
(see I said I would leave it alone and I got into it anyway.)
ah well… At least I find that I have lots of time now. I never realized how much I was spending in here. I figured that I couldn’t be in here too much as I don’t really answer tech questions anymore, but no… it’s all socializing. I don’t think that’s a waist of time, but it shouldn’t overshadow work time.

sad as it is to say Lost… I have a problem. No it’s not the one Phil thinks I have, it is, addiction to socialization. I cannot not reply to a thread which holds fascination for me.
Likewise I consider a moderatorship to be a job, with responsabilities. The concept of a mod shutting his ears (turning on “ignore user”) to anyone in a forum, including other mods, to me is shirking one’s duties.
Lastly I take my principals very seriously. I don’t have a whole lot of them after all. But the one’s I do have I try to fight for. Perhaps that’s silly to others, but not to me. I’m not the one who loses out, it’s other kirupians who do. Which is unfortunate, but sometimes necessary in order to make a point. (even if no one knows what that point is.)
I don’t really have any other options my friend.
Thanks for telling me about the name editing powers. That’s pretty cool. You are correct in that I cannot take Upuaut. I tried changing that account’s name, and even tried banning my other account. Neither worked. Probebly Kirupa has to go in and delete the information from the DB. Not something I care to bug him about as it’s hardly a priority to me.
