I don’t have a clue what I should make for a logo…the name of the DBA is Simplified Software. I want to put a logo on the site (simplifedsoftware.org ::Not Up Yet…I Know::), and buisness cards etc…we do custom applications (Java, C++, etc…), and site scripts (Flash Interfaces, PHP, ASP, etc…), and basically anything that you want us to make…or that’s the idea…any suggestions would be awsome.
Well what about pushing the text to the foreground and moving the L symbols behind the text? Then adding a one or two line edge to the L shape to give it some kind of depth to it. I definately want to change the font. Probably to something like this.
It’s a good start. A little hard to read though. I would change fonts to a thicker one if you’re going to put the blue behind the words. Also, lighten the blue arows if you’re going to keep them behind the text.
But it’s looking pretty good. :be:
I think the one “the pete one” posted is the best. it has the right placement for ur logo too. Udont want it to be too jazzy too. Logos should describe the name mostly. Like unflux pointed, let it stay simple, like ur company name. I d only change the corsiva font used at the bottom from what pete one has done. The one u did overlaps and is hard to read. I d say ur log is too good to be overlapped, if u know what I mean…
Something like this…and I have included one with Andiron Outline too…but I think u should go with this placement suggested by pete one…also look at some of the logo design sites like

Ok i will check them out.
I have two knew things to for you to look at. Sorry I didn’t reply sooner but I have classes all day today (Cal 2 yuck!) anyways.
I have two new sets of logos.
[]Set One
[]My girlfried’s office said that that she liked my logo with it behind the text but they didn’t like it blurry. It took away from the design so i fixed that.
[]Someone said that the text should be thicker. So I fixed that.

[]Set Two
[]This one i moved the blue L’s from behind the text. I don’t like it way up in the corner it makes it seem like the L’s are an afterthought or something…I’m just not crazy about that idea. So i moved the text from over it, and placed it next to em.
[]Also, this one uses the idea of the combining the s’s.

Changed the font to a thicker one. It didn’t alias good. I can fix that later. I just threw these together real quick before another class.

Let me know what you think.
I agree with gr8jay. Another thing to keep in mind is that you should limit yourself to 2 fonts or less. Any more than that and it can look very jumbled and confusing…also crappy.
I guess sometimes 3 fonts can work, but personally I don’t enjoy them.
I would use the bottom logo on your #7 jpg. The “SIM” is still hard to read though. Try making the arrows lighter and/or make the Simplified thicker and leave the Software not thick but in the same font. Also, move the Software down a little bit more. It’s crowding the Simplified too much. Try and evenly space Software between Simplified and the line on the bottom.
I think you’re getting very close with that last one though.
I was thinking the same thing pete put together for you. You logo actually was awesome to me. I was just to complex and washed out. Simplified in pete’s example is great…The only thing I would do is limit the use of fonts to 2. 3 diff fonts is the biggest no-no in branding. “software” should be the same font as “simplified”. And either lose the tagline or center it. right now it is a lil off balance to me. Also find a little better font for it. BUt it is good that way.
Simple Soft is a better name…and the logo doesn’t do anything for me. Why the motif of the two arrows making a plus sign? How is that relevant and why should I spend time thinking about it?
For a logo, you really should try to stay to one font, but if you have to go two be careful.
well the two arrows thing really has no importance. Like I said before I am not partial to it. So if you have any other ideas great otherwise it is not a bad one. I think.
i think your attached to that logo and you just keep reworking it do some sketches and do diffrent things your stuck with just that one logo and trying to make it work, trust me ive done that before ive grown attached to a logo or a concept desing that i just cant let go until i sketch something else and mix them up
My advice get a pencil and paper and draw
are you by chance a resident of northern california?
i like your modified version of the logo with the monochromatic palette. monochromatic schemes always act as a good unifier in a site and show some skill (but have to be done well… as does everything.)
