I’ve been developing this site for my dad’s company recently.
It uses a template which I’ve ripped apart and pieced back together with all of my changes. Its a very simple design but I quite like it, and so do the employees (which is what counts right!? :P).
Anyway, some of the feedback they gave me was to change the buttons at the side and bottom by perhaps giving them a fade. And also, perhaps a fade at the top, which will contain flash text looping through the companies services/products (only on the homepage).
My problem is that I’m a bit stumped for ideas (which is fairly pathetic, but my skills at design aren’t that good) If i put a straight horizontal fade in there for each button, I think it’ll look tacky. If I use rounded corners, along with being a pain to code in css, I think they might look tacky. I also think the whole drop shadows and rounded corners (ala Web 2.0) won’t run with the current design.
So my question is this: does anyone have any ideas, or sites I could use for inspiration for a solution.
Probably the most vague question i’ve posted yet! and that’s saying something! :trout:
