Math trick. Involves normal calculator

I just got emailed this from a friend. Thought it was cool. Did a quick forum search, its new to Kirupa.com.

  1. Grab a calculator. (you won’t be able to do this one in your head)

  2. Key in the first three digits of your phone number (NOT the area code)

  3. Multiply by 80

  4. Add 1

  5. Multiply by 250

  6. Add the last 4 digits of your phone number

  7. Add the last 4 digits of your phone number again

  8. Subtract 250

  9. Divide number by 2

Do you recognize the answer?

I didn’t recognize the answer the first time I did it, I chalked it up to my misreading the directions or hitting a wrong key (Not that I knew what I was supposed to get) So I cleared the calculator multiple times and redid it. This time the result made more sense (I:E why it was emailed to me)

All information that I got about it, Is included above.

Have fun, pass it on afterwards or whatever else you do with interesting things (Maybe print and store in a 12"x12" steel plated binder locked into a orange half rusted safe with 3 numbers rubbed out from the dial, located under the floor boards beneath the big screen TV you hollowed out to store your spare electrical cords?–Just a guess)
