I am with Microsoft on this one!!

In my opinion, no one, and I mean no one can tell me what I add and I do add in my software, since I developed it, therefore I am the owner of it. This means that (always in my opinion) Microsoft should be more then free to give extra software in their operating systems, since it is there’s. The competitors don’t like that!? Then they should stop wining and start building their own operating systems, today there is a whole market with Linux! And they could actually come up with something original.

Well if you are a firefox fan this might be a good thing. Might allow them to grab some more market share.
on one hand i agree with you. but on the other hand, it’s necessary to recognize the importance of competition. within the pc OS market, the barriers to entry are so high that there is essentially no competition. the EU and microsoft have battled over that for years. now the EU claims that it’s spilling over into the media player business. I don’t know how far this will actually get though because there are a bevy of media players available and widely used. windows media player is just one of many.
Well the EU told microsoft to create a version of their OS without the default Software! thus removing software like media player and internet explorer. However some one please tell me how users can download any other software without a default browser!
I have developed a simple text editor and feel that notepad is distroying my market, will they remove this as well!!! … I also developed a calculator!!
This is all (sorry for the word) stupid! I mean an OS is made from a group of resources (software, files, etc)!
So companies that sell desktop backgrounds should say that they do not want the OS to come with several desktop backgrounds! … Companies like Northon should say that the OS should not even have a default security system!
In the end Microsoft has the duty to sell something good to their clients! They must be sure that their client is satisfied! 50% of their clients are home users that do not know what security even means, what netscape is, and from where to get it plus much much more! … In my opinion, an Operating System must come COMPLETED and made easy for the normal client!

bwh - Microsoft is forced to offer a Media Player-less version of XP in Europe based on a earlier version of this court case, but there hasn’t been any demand for it.
ah yes, that is correct. well, we’ll see how this all plays out. i don’t know that it will change anything at the end of the day because regardless of what the EU does, microsoft will still dominate the OS market and have an easy gateway into other PC related markets.
I am with Microsoft also, I mewan ftw?:td:
