Movie Tutorial (complex?)

Looking for a tutorial on what I believe is a movie in flash.

How do you make a photo appear to be moving within without actually moving the entire photo?

A great example is at:

You see on the right side a flash movie that appears to moving within, but the actual photo is not moving across the page…

Any insight on to learn how to do this?

Appreciate it!!!

Well their site is HTML so I don’t think they masked it.

It is just basic Motion tweens. You can find tutorials and such for that on this site.

by the look of it large pictures are being moved up and down forth and back , etc ; what you see is under the area of a mask which covers up the large pictures in movement ;
try to do the same with a picture on a layer below a mask ;
I think the rest is tuning up the movements to look like grandamarathon ;
don´t know if it means something to you ?

Hey mmmkt, I really don’t think it is a mask, if you look towards then end when the image is scaled down you can see everything.

Hi Lostinbeta

the site has html part and a flash movie as well ;

right click over that marathon movie . you will see that is a flash movie on which a mask was used to hide the movements (tweenings ) of large pictures ;

Hmm, still skeptical… but it doesn’t matter, it works either way…lol.

No use bickering over it.

Thanks for the feedback!!!

Is this tutorial something similiar to the effect I’m looking for…

It appears somewhat similiar except for it is not using photographs…

Thanks again.

Now, it is more like this one, but instead of using _alpha you just reposition your image…

OK…I think I get it. I am actually moving the photograph but the movie itself is smaller than the photograph, so you don’t actually see the edges of the photograph moving, just the middle of the photo!!

Am I on to it here?

Yep you are on it 100%.

It is much more simpler than it looks :slight_smile:

Very cool!!! You’re right it is much, much simpler than it looks.

Thanks a bunch for your guidance!!!

No problem :slight_smile:

Finished it up today!!!

Looks pretty cool!!
