Masking Question

On a lot of the trendier sites, when loading and image the image comes out across the page as if moving. I believe they’re using a masking technique but I’m not sure on the specific way to do this.

Can someone point me to a tutorial that emphasizes the ability to create a motioned image?

For instance the crystals coming up across the stage or pipes moving in as a background before the main stage is set.

Any help would be appreciated… Thanks guys.

Eu? Could you explain further? Example?

After entering the fullscreen site you click on the icon the panels move outwards… I’ll find a couple more… as well…

Any help?

I’m not 100% what you want to know, so here goes…

The image flickers due to key frames and blank key frames with the alpha set to different levels.

The way the shape on the left changes when you click a button looks like it could be the new shape sliding in over the top of the existing shape OR by using a mask. Both will work.

The way the content housing part changes can be done again with key frames. You can set frame one and have the color at the bottom then frame two and have it at a different angle / shape but this time further up and so on. OR you can use shape tween.

Let me know if I’m barking up the wrong tree.
[I’m off to lunch so I wont reply for a bit.]

I believe my problem might lie in the use of easing the motion for a smoother finish.

Like most projects I believe trial and error to be the key to getting the desired outcome . Thanks a lot for the replies.
