Rather than write about my life, I have decided to do a blog on Wimbledon Tennis, having a global event on my doorstep seems a good topic for a blog!
www.2006wimbledontennis.com
I’m going to try and make some ‘pocket money’ through advertising, but Im just hoping to learn something by doing it
Tomorrow morning I’m going to be taking most of the imagery for it.
If anyone has any ideas\comments\advice then fire away! There are very few resources out there, so any help would be great!

PS, its dummy content for the moment… trying to get some cool Wordpress plugins to work at the mo…
I like the site! You probably will be able to make some money from advertising, but how much was the domain name?
The site is a word press template that I customised to my needs! the domain cost £15, about $25.
i think i was lucky to get the domain

But you know in 8 months the “2006” part of the domain name will start bothering you…
but still, that’s a great domain name. now you need people to actually go to your blog.
im not too worried about the domain name, just buy a new one each year
I spent all of today updating it with images. text content to follow!

You should get a plan that includes lots of domains… cause thats going to come to a lot of money, buying a new one each year!

No… it won’t. You have to renew every year anyway…
You paid 25 bucks for a domain O_O I would never pay more than 10 bucks.

Yeah you should use dreamhost
They have a good deal for $7.95
You should have had 2006 as a subdomain, then it woulda been easier
You could have then redirected the user to the correct year

Doubtful that wimbledontennis.com was available, I don’t feel like checking of course.
[ot]Omega, enjoy your 1£ donation Hopefully people will be as nice as me ;)[/ot]
it was the best domain i could get out of the combinations
as has been said i just won’t renew it for next year.
Although Wimbledon is known for the tennis, it is a very popoular place to go out in SW London, so if any of you are planning a trip over then have a look!
