Please check out my very first website.

This is my first attempt at anything web releated so I decided to make the page for the client for free. HTML version in Dreamweaver is next, as soon as I learn that.
Make sure to check out the Build Your Own Wreath section - its kind of neat I think.

Note: still looking for the right picture for the About Us section so its not done.

Please let me know what you think and how I can improve on this or future sites.

Well for a first flash site, it’s okay, it’s not great, but it’s not really horrible either.

Here are some things I noticed:

  1. Since I’m on a fast connection, your splash page appeared for a second, I didn’t even get a chance to read any of the text. You shouldn’t have it automatically load your site, give your viewer’s the option of entering whenever they click a enter button. Doing this will give them a chance to read the text on your splash page.

  2. As for your layout, I think you over did it with the bevel and emboss filter in PS. When you overuse an effect it dominates your layout, the professionalism is taken away.

  3. I also think your content is layed out in an unorganized way, it seems so messy. If you move back from the monitor, you can see that you have stuff scattered every where which doesn’t look clean at all.

  4. It would be nice to see a better transition effect from section to section as well which is something you can work on.

It’s a good start so far, but you still have a lot to learn. Good luck. =)

All in all, it’s okay, but I think you need to take more advantage of Flash’s plethora of features and capabilities.

hey, its an allright site. i agree with most of the things electrongeek has said (as usual)

as for the transitions i think a faster framerate would help greatly on sections like “angels”

also some consistancy would definitely help as per EGs comment on the cluttered layout.

however the function of the site seems to work well so i dont think that it would take too much to make it a lot more than what it is right now.
