My New Job (A Must Read)

Hola, if your ready to have a real good laugh, well you’ve came to the right thread

I do a lot of work for an agency in NYC. Basically when they have some office/computer temp work they contact me and send me over to whatever company needs the help. Decent deal but it’s nothing fantastic, I’m sure many of you can relate to what I’m saying.

So last week I got a call and my agency told me that a company, which name I will not reveal due to the idioticsm (if that’s a word). The agency told me this company needed to transfer some files over to another hard drive on the network.

When I heard this I knew it would be easy but had no idea what I was about to see. When I got here this morning, they were eagerly waiting for me as If some crazy hazard went down. They proceed to show me what I had to do.

Here’s where it gets ultra funny

They have a 500 mg zip file with folders and files, all misc stuff like excel sheets, word files, access database’s ect. The woman proceeds to start showing me what to do. She open’s the zip file with winzip and starts manually creating folders and drops each file in the folder .

Note there are about 10,000 files. So I look at the woman and with a puzzled look on my face and she says “Is there an easier way to do this?”.

I reply with a well, you could just unzip the zip file to the proper folder on the hard drive and all the folder and files will already be in the correct structure.

They expected this to be about a 2 week task, well it took let’s see, around umm 25 minutes

I called a friend and had him cracking up, keep in mind this is a huge company who’s office is in around a $10 million building.

So my new job is over, all it took was a right click and extract to folder option.

Until the next temp job, Digital over and out :z:
