thnx you guys im still working on it to make it look like a site (also i made my new footer the same way the site was made)
ok so ive added some more stuff tell me what you think (ill put the url here when i upload it to freewebs)
one word: nice
thank you lucas and i like your idea about the farm.
yeah nice layout
you should put a black background with that layout.
Oh and will it be a flash site?
http://www.freewebs.com/spud_cube/site.swf this is what i have so far ive animated the buttons and added some stuff, the red tab will move along the top but i think its ok.
I’m gunna tell you straight up that I do not like this. It is ugly and wayyy to simple. The layout it’s self is not put together very well and the colors aren’t really working. Sorry to be ***** but I know a good composition when I see one. And this isn’t one.
I like it except for the buttons, the lettering looks kinda big to me. I like the top header though. Very nice site…:thumb:
Okay, well, I don’t like this layout, but I think it has some potential. Most of your stuff is HUGE, and I don’t think it needs to be that way. For instance, it looks like you have a 10-12px stroke, assuming that you’re using photoshop (maybe 5px yellow, then a 2px white, and then another 5px yellow) around everything, and I don’t think that that is visually appealing. If, however, you were to scale that down a bit so that it didn’t look so overblown, it might actually give off a nice feel. Try this and see what you come up with: only use one color as a border and only have that border be 1px in width. Now, it also looks like you’re trying to do the cutouts that I’ve seen in some other sites. If you’re going to do that, then make them very small as well, or else you won’t have room for content, which is the ultimate goal of those boxes that you have up there. Again, the bigness (is that a word?) of the triangles and borders are really overbearing on the user/viewer, so, to remedy that, make those things smaller so that stuff just flows. Oh, yeah, and you should also center your text stuff. Again, assuming that you’re using photoshop, you can use photoshop’s alignment tools to center the text individually in the link boxes. For an in-depth alignment tutorial, goodtutorials.com has a few. Lastly, your colors (white on yellow with a side of red, and black on gray) are kind of offensive, so consider using darker shades of the aforementioned colors (yellow and red) or just choose different colors (I’d probably ditch the red and the gray). I know, though, that this isn’t your finished work and that the current stuff doesn’t completely reflect your vision for the site, but you really do need to do something about the colors and the size of the design’s components.
