Hi
Let me first say that I’m not a techy computer person. I’m a visual artist. I’ve been learning Flash for a personal project I’m working on. Everything’s gone pretty well until now. I’m having some trouble figuring out some specific navigation stuff.
I’m working on a site where all the sections are located on specific keyframes. Now my main timeline has the intro animation on frame 10. Within that animation I have buttons that should take you to each of the sections of the site which will be located on other keyframes (20,30,40, etc.) So far so good.
Now within the into animation I have an “exit” animation where all the buttons and stuff go to the bottom of the page. What I want to happen is, when you click on say, the About button, you see the exit animation and then go to frame 20 of the main timeline where the About animation will be located.
Right now I can get my buttons to EITHER play the exit animation OR bring you to the correct keyframe. What do I need to do so that when you press the About button it first plays the animation in the Intro section to the end and THEN goes to frame 20. I know there’s got to be a way to do this but for the life of me I can’t seem to find the solution anywhere, in my books or online. Can anyone help me with this?? I’m I going about this all wrong?
I have a template that I’m working with online here:
http://www.cobwebforest.com/cobwebcontentstest2.html
You can see that if you click on About it plays the exit animation. If you click on Contents it brings you to frame 30 where there will be Content animation.
Thanks!
