any free video tutorials around? id love to learn actionscript and i look at tutorials but its always copy and paste this… and i never learn anything at all… so once again, anyone know any free video tutorials?
well, I don’t know where there are free video tutorials… but if you do the basic tutorials and try to see why someone is doing what they are doing it is a huge help. Instead of just copying and pasting, experiment, add things, change variables, just trial and error until you see exactly what it happening. It would also be a huge help to learn some trig. Someone had an awesome trig tutorial, I’ll see if I can find a link. A lot of actionscripting involves math though, especially the visual type stuff you see a lot on the kirupa site. I would highly recommend Robert Penners book, “Programming Macromedia Flash MX.” It might help to demystify some of those math equations for ya.
