i had the same kinda thing happen to me once, i just grit my teeth tho, and eventually the hole that was continuously cut into my mouth healed AROUND the metal, so i had a little groove thingy for the wire… i can faintly feel where it is now if i mess around in my mouth with my finger… cool eh
btw i did have a reason for postin that, i never developed an infection and next time i had my wire replaced i mentioned it and he apologised/made sure it wasnt too long… so if you can bear the pain dont worry about the infection, its pretty hard to get an infection in your mouth when the metal cutting it is as clean (excepting foodbits etc.) as those wires are when they’re put in
