Photo Files in Flash

What file format would you use if you want to import full coloured photographs/illustrations onto Flash? I’m still working on my Flash portfolio, and when I imported BMP files (That’s what I was taught back in school), the resolution comes out very blurry and just plain ugly. How can I make my photographs come out crisp and clean?

Open the Library (F11), right click over the image, choose Properties from the menu and uncheck Allow smoothing in the Properties dialog box. That should solve the problem, I think. :stuck_out_tongue:

By the way, I usually use PNG’s. =)

I use PNGs if I do transparent files.

Thanks though!

No problem.

I normally use JPG since you can import and MX supports dynamically loading JPG’s as well.

If you need to preserve transparency use GIF. GIF files will be larger than JPG…

This might help a bit too.
