Photoshop N Flash

Hey guys, im just wondering what is the best way to get a photoshop image with for eg. bevels into flash.

I saved it as a PNG, but when i took it to Flash, it loses the sharpness. When i go to my publish options i do select PNG, is there anything else i can do??

Man, you got that way too wrong, no way jpg is sharper than png.
jpg is smaller in bytes and less cpu consuming, but png is the best when it comes to quality.

maybe you are right :frowning:
but is jpg more best than PNG in flash or what is the right thing :q:

I would say jpg, but png is more flexible (transparency, blur, etc)

=)

Less than 256 Colors = go with a .gif

More than 256 Colors = go with a .jpg

Contains any partial transparency such as a blurred area where you can see the background (which would be transparent as well) = go with .png

thanx lostinbeta …

you said the right thing in each one =)
thanx C:-)

if you use jpg / png and I think also with GIF’s.
In the library ->go to your imagefile, click right mousebutton and select “properties”. Then you UNCHECK ‘allow smoothing’. Makes the images look much more crisp.
A tip is also to better not rescale bitmap images in Flash. Crop your stuff to the right dimensions in photoshop.

hope this helps…

No problem FlashSwimmer

Stanley: Yep…, and also in the properties there is an option that lets you change the quality of the images instead of using the Flash imported default compression. It ups the file size, but worth it if your image is looking bad.
