Hello all, I have been trying to define a pattern in Photoshop of a polygon that looks like the one in the background of this page:
Can someone tell me how to achieve this and how to apply a gradient to the pattern once it has been put down.

you just need to think about how the pattern will tile, i’m not going to draw it up for you now but it doesn’t take that long. you could probably google for a pattern wallpaper or whatever.
As for the gradient, you could do it one of a few ways. The simplest, depending on what else is part of your comp, might be to make the hexagons white, and then draw a gradient on a new layer and use a blending mode such as multiply to apply the color onto the hexes.
Otherwise, you could use a gradient layer style on the pattern layer itself.
or you could create the pattern and then apply a gradient mask for transparency and then add a color gradient on top with layer properties
it’s some fun stuff
but I would like to see pie’s idea though
