there are some free hosts that allow you to use phpBB… I’m not really sure which ones tho… a search on google might help you. I’ll look too.

http://www.tripod.lycos.co.uk/

that one!

you need a database (MySQL I guess) to store all the phpBB forum data on. So I suggest you read this: http://www.kirupaforum.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=23650 :thumb:

cowboy: that lycos site offers php and mysql databases for free… and thats what he wanted…

but then for the lycos it gives free 50mb so like… i can have only 50mb worth of discussion on the forum ?? how does that work ??

I know, I was just giving him some alternatives - and there are some free ones in there anyway! :stuck_out_tongue:

Djames: 50 mb for a database is a lot of room. You will be able to have a lot of discussion. If you ever go over, then I would just pay for a real website and host the forum there…

cool jubba thanks for all the help

no problem.

Let me clear up a little bit as well.

50 mb is a lot of discussion room because all you are saving in the database and everything is text. So if you ever feel that your site is popular enough to go over 50 mb then it would probably be in your benefit to purchase a real domain/hosting package where you have more space. :
