Hi,
I’m building a portfolio site at http://home.att.net/~dcbinsf/ and I’m experiencing problems, particularly with the .swfs linked to the “video” button.
For example, check out what happens after you hit the black, triangular play button on the “ranger1.swf”: the navigation on the left disappears!
I think that it has something to do with the levels on which I’m playing the .swf’s so I’ve experimented with playing them on levels “0” and “1” but the resolution of one problem just creates another.
If memory serves, I have two .swfs entitled “ranger1.swf” and “ranger2.swf”. (I don’t remember or understand why “index.html” lists a “video.swf”). The two ranger .swfs are linked together with the following action script:
Hitting the “video” button runs the following script:
on(release){
loadMovie(“ranger1.swf”, 1);
}
Hitting the black, triangular play button on the ranger1.swf runs a similar script but on a different level:
on(release){
loadMovie(“ranger2.swf”, 0);
}
Of course, the “0” level is where the navigation buttons are located and that’s why they disappear when ranger2.swf plays BUT, when I experimented with putting ranger2.swf on level 1, I seem to recall that the video played over the text on ranger1.swf.
(With regards to the absence of the sound, if anyone can shed some light on how or why it didn’t transfer from Final Cut Pro to Flash, I would be most appreciative. The sound transferred from the video to the DVD via a converter but, as you can hear for yourself, the video contained within ranger2.swf has no sound.)
Finally, with regards to the other .swfs linked to the buttons entitled “print” and “slideshow”, how does one END a sequence? In other words, when I get to the end of the samples, I want there to only be the “back” button but it disappears when I try to remove the “forward” button.
Is that because I put the “back” and “forward” buttons on the same layer? If so, is the solution to have separate layers for each button (i.e. one to advance to the next keyframe, another to move back to the previous keyframe)?
Please advise.
Thanks!

David
