Problems duplicating button?

I’m trying to duplicate button to use more that once in a movie. I can duplicate the button, but when I go to edit the text in the new symbol that is created, I end up editing the original button. What am I doing wrong?

I don’t know why… but you better open your library [F11] right click over the item you want to edit and select “edit”
