Questions for Geniuses

I’m interested in getting into Flash web design. I’d like some tips on where to start, where to go, what to reference, books to use, etc. What goes into designing sites in Flash. I’m only familiar with animation and some basic Actionscript.

Any help would be much appreciated,

Jim,

No way I’m a genius, but I found **this book **a great help.

It’s a short book - about 140 pages - and it probably won’t teach you a whole lot about other aspects of Flash, but it got me up and running when I wanted to put together my own small website (and I knew absolutely nothing to start with). I recommend it as a good first book on using Flash for web design.

I have several other books also published by Peachpit Press, and they’ve all been really useful.

Good Luck

Try reading “Learning ActionScript 3.0” from O’Reilly.
Excellent book, and a perfect companion to Flash CS3.

My advice is to concentrate your efforts on procedural scripting with modest experimental projects, then graduate to OOP and larger more complete projects when you start feeling comfortable with the basics.
