Rendering vectors

hi,

I’ve been doing a bit of vector stuff recently, and i have encountered a problem when i want to render it as a jpeg

attached is the same object done at 96 ppi and 384 (96x4)

however, the higher res one looks more pixelly… anyone know why, and what to do about it?

isn’t higher res always better?

thanks, stuart

Hmm thats is weird , you sure you had anti alias ticked when you exported the vector for the hi res one? :-\

did you recreate the image on a higher res pallette or cut and paste it without resampling and just resize it? the higher the dpi (for print) is supposed to be better. Not necessarily for web. 72 is ideal for web stuff.

in the program i use you can ‘render’ within the program… it basically just captures all the pixels at the resolution you specify

so it’s exactly the same original vector, just rendered (maybe the same as resampled?) and then saved together in the one jpeg…

i dunno :stuck_out_tongue:

thanks anyway
Stuart

if you had them at the same size they came out (ie the higher resolution would be a larger pic) then you wouldn’t have the alias on, but a smooth pic i guess.
