Does anyone have any good Sangria recipes? I found a bunch on the internet but I’m looking for someone that actually makes this on a somewhat consistent basis. I’d like to surprise the wife tonight with dinner and sangria.
I asked my wife since she makes it from time to time and here’s what she told me. Measurements are rough : )
1 bottle of a good Rioja wine (Any red wine will do, but avoid Syrahs, Merlots and Blend wines since they tend to be a bit too distinct)
0.5 - 1 cup of brandy
1 cup of Cointreau
1 cup of Orange Juice with pulp
1 Orange, cut into small cubes. Make sure it’s not over-ripe.
1-2 cans of Lemon-Lime Soda
1 Lime, cut into small cubes
Double or triple recipe as you see fit ;p

A while back somebody posted a Wikipedia style site on alcoholic drinks etc, anybody know the Url?
I’m currently drinking Malibu and Coke

Thanks man heading to the store now :thumb:
Just buy Sangria from the store.
^That’s no fun
Thats cheating.
It also tastes nowhere near as good. Sangria isn’t sangria unless the top inch in the jug is freshly chopped fruit. Although i’m more of a pimms guy myself. Ah summer drinks, how i love them!
Now that its been solved and were on the subject at drinks. Anyone have that Bud Light Lime… finally had some of it last night and its really good.
No I don’t like beers with a lime taste to them. I used to love Corona’s and lime, but I think I drank too much of them one night and it kind of killed it for me.
Bud Light Lime aint bad for a budwiser… and that is saying a lot.
Bud and Miller are way down there on the top list of “worst tasting beers” in my opinion so I was pleasantly surprised that light lime was half *** decent x)
Miller on that list of the worst… but Bud Light is good (i never have just Bud). I wouldn’t drink the Bud Light Lime a lot but one of them is kind of nice change.
Miller, Busch, Natty are probably the worst three, even though I drink them all the time (they are cheap and I’m still a college student so I can’t be picky).
^Local, but its only summer, but its soo good but pretty expensive so its good that its only seasonal.
You and your terrible american beers. It’s all about a good solid british ale for me. Speckled Hen, maybe. Or anything by Badger (my favourite brewery).
Corona with lime is gorgeous though. Especially if you thumb the top, tip it over, and then slowly let the hiss out. Much fun when drunk!
You know, I felt the same way when I moved here (From Sweden originally). Not all American beers are half-bad though. Goose Island are pretty damn sweet. Both the lager and the ale are solid beers that I drink quite often.
If this thread is leaning into beer recommendations then Newcastle Brown ale and Hoegaarten weiss are 2 solid ones x)
Two good recommendations there Sekasi, i love them both. And i will take your word for it that all american beers don’t tast like watered down piss, just the ones i’ve had over there! Cocktails, now you can’t beat a well made Mojito, but with vodka instead of whatever the hell is in it to start with.
That’d be rum. Vodka and rum are awfully different.
Seriously.
Raging alcoholics only need apply to this thread.
Both are translucent, have a strong odor and make you behave like a douche.
Quite the similarity there x)
^Not much of a social drinker?
Your kidding me right? I can’t even describe its taste its just not good (I had some yesterday, 12 people tasted it and not a single one of us liked it).
It must be an acquired taste (not one I’d like to acquire).
Ale drinking is an aquired taste. But once you go that way you realize how tasteless most lager really is. I enjoy both, but a good ale or bitter is a beautiful thing.
