Scenes

[font=Arial]I know people are against scenes. My problem is that I am just learning Flash, so for the time being, I had a design firm create a Flash site for me. I looked at the FLA file and it was done in scenes. The total size of the SWF file is 485K, so is that fine for dialup people or should we have all the scenes broken out? If so, what do I need to do? Is is tough to do?

Also, this is probably a very simple question, but I need to add one element to the FLA file and it needs to be in the EXACT same spot on all the scenes. Rather than manually placing it and running the risk of it not being in the same spot on all the scenes (not to mention it being very time consuming), isn’t there an easy way, like how you can select something and hit the “distribute to all layers” button? 485k is too much for dialup users if it’s all loaded in one go. It’s a bit difficult to determine from what you’ve said. “Breaking out” all the scenes is not going to change the size of the total file, but it may be useful to do it if it’s not loading in individual sections of the page independently. It’s not going to be real easy to do, if you have limited flash knowledge.

You can manually place the element into the scenes and simply adjust the x and y values of the element, to assure it’s position. You might be better finding someone who has worked with flash to help make changes.
