Should we just learn to live with Terrorism

I am not sure if this question has been asked before but I was thinking. In light of the new developments with the 7 peoples wanted for terrorist links (see think link)…How do we attack such a problem this thing called terrorism? While it is a foreign threat, the US is so diverse it is actually a domestic threat. I took note today when I caught myself thinking “I wonder if this dude is a terrorists”. I know it is a bad thought but paint the picture in your mind of what you would think a terrorists would look like. I came up with someone middle eastern, dark complection traditional middle eastern dress… Now I am not a racists and have many friends of all nationalities, but I can see this becoming like a racism/segregation thing and many folks could be wronged because of it. I mean we live with the very people that are being protrayed as terrorists. Then there is the other side of the coin, where the terrorists often do not look like your traditional terrorists or heck maybe even be American. As is the case with one of the 7 people wanted for terrorists links.

It puts me in the mind of theat one Denzel Washington movie where we ended up prisoners in our country due to terrorism. We just did not know where to start so we inprisioned everyone. We are so deep rooted with various nationalities. Will we ever be effective on our fight against terrorism? Can we ever erradicate terrorism on US soil? Or should we just accept terrorism as part of society? Kind of like natural disasters, and whatever terrorists we can catch or terrorists acts we can stop take those as mini-victories?

I just cannot see an end in sight to terrorism. I guess we have our intelligence networks, but there are bound to be cracks in that also. It’s a scary thought. Now that we are back on high alert, anyone one of us could have giant targets on our back. What ya’ll think?
