Site.40% done

http://www.jayreyes.com

Looks familiar, seen it done before - maybe it was you posting it before, not sure.

It looks good, I just watched the animations, didn’t click or go deep since I’m assuming it wasn’t done. My only complain is takes too long to get the content with all the animations taking place.

Maybe it reminds you of DrawingArt?

Well those are both similar! It’s really hard to be truly unique anymore, not accusing of him ripping anyone off just saying it looks familiar.

here are some notes as i go into the site:

 1. the growing circles in the beginning could be a bit smoother (it’d also be cool if you made it looks like water ripple)
 2. kind of hard to read some of the text (red) against the background

3)none of the links i pressed work yet, and you may already plan on doing this but i’d make your email addresses into links too

great job! looks really nice, i would definitely hire you

Did you develop this site?

Test this on a 1280x800 monitor please and you will notice some overlap.

I really like it.

Yeah, was just on one of my computers with a small screen and there was some pretty major overlap and cut-off on 1024x768.
I think it might be an idea to shrink down the image boxes vertically.

Also, might be more effective if the intro was sped up slightly and remove the ‘Welcome’ text. Apart from that, it’s looking good.

i LIKE IT.

They do look similar, but I actually like Jay’s site better. The transitions are less extravagant but work better with the style. The site’s not done so I can’t really comment much on it, but what is done looks good. I agree with the hard to read text though. There should be user feedback on selectable items, but I’m sure you know that, and just haven’t gotten around to it yet.

I’m using 1280x800 and I haven’t noticed anything. That’s odd. Maybe slightly different versions of flash are rendering things differently?

^Nope flash renders the same on all computers. Fidodo your browser doesn’t have the status bar (or bookmarks is hidden). With one of them off the text doesn’t overlap but its still 1 px off the top which looks a little close.

I got an idea resize the boxes showing the images would fix that problem and allow more screen resolutions.

The red titles at the bottom are not readable at all with that dark background.

cool :thumb:

yes I did

I like it too.

I don’t like that it takes me almost 10 seconds to get from 100% loading to site “intro” 100% done though… that’s wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too much. That welcome thing in the start feels totally redundant.

Jay, I like your site, it’s nice.

However the reason I asked that question is… if you developed the site, and it’s your site, why do you talk about yourself in 3rd person?

I like it - and I like the transitions. Nothing wrong with a little eye candy - now it’s flash.

And I really like your typography work in general. Those prints on the front page looks really great. Especially the first one.

very nice job … now I wanna see it finish though …

thnx…reason is, I took that mini bio. from a web studio, which i’m working on - just wanted to fill that space out for now, but it will change.
