Ribaudequin: Not too fond of the advert pop-ups. The images on the splash page were low quality and jagged. Im not really sure how the rollover images in the navigation are useful or have a point, they are way off to the side and too small to even get what they are. That little yellow guy that popped in and out of the fun section was quite annoying/distracting and didn’t fit well with the site at all. Also the site has no visually defined boundaries, so the scrolling content seems like it is appearing and disappearing into thin air which looks weird to me.
Missweblash: Woah, that orange/yellow color scheme was quite hard on my eyes. I also found the pixel font used was too small to read comfortably. I wasn’t too fond of the sound effects on the orange buttons or that the navigation was a mysterymeat navigation (you hadd to rollOver the oranges to see what section it led to). In your play section I didn’t really understand what to do, but then I realized that some things happened behind the 4 big blocks that take up almost all the visual space. I must say, excellent vector work, but overall your site was too hard on my eyes.
Flashlevel: I like the layout, and the image transitions of the orange blur is very nicely done. However, perhaps it is just my monitor, but the color scheme is just way too dark. I found myself struggling to read the dark grey text on the black background and it took me a while to realize there was a scrollbar off to the side, I was trying for a bit to figure out how to scroll the text. As I said this might only be my monitor, but I don’t have another one to check it out on and I can only critique by what I see. From what I could see everything was nicely pulled off, but the dark color scheme knocks points off.
Commander Cool: Was it really neccessary to put this in a pop-up? Even the pop-up was too big for my monitor (1024x768), I don’t know what res you expect all your viewers to be having, but I think you are expecting too much. Your color scheme is quite dull, personally I like it though. I think your site is a nice simple site that pulls off what it needs to pull off without all the extra fancy jazz. I definitely liked the stuff in your portfolio as well (this is just a side comment)
Gbay: What was up with the holding shift for navigation? At least you gave instruction for that in the beginning, but the the instructions go away leaving people to think it might not be the same. The navigation structure is not very user friendly at all. Also the vector images of you (I assume you) are choppy and don’t fit in the site well, they stick out (not in a good way).
Ombilicus: Why the gigantic pop-up? I designer should always plan for at least 800x600, but when a site is too big for ever 1024x768 it gives the impression you have too high expectations for your viewers. Not everyone has top of the line big-screen television sized monitors. It wasn’t clear what items were actually meant to be used as the back button, it took me a while to figure out what to click in each section just to return back to the original navigation (a navigation should really always be present no matter what section you are in). That big lizard definitely didn’t fit in at all, it stuck out like a sore thumb. I liked the touch of going into the bar and coming out and having it be night time. The style overall I found unique and I liked it a lot, but the functionaly part just wasn’t there. Things made noise after rolling over them for pretty much no reason, and the back buttons weren’t clear at all, it could definitely use more work for functionality.
Itworks: Those sound effects were ear piercing, I didn’t really like them much. Your map thing in “Destaque” needs to be fixed, you can scroll it into nothingness just by repeatedly clicking in any direction. I also found your title area to be a bit unproffessional looking, there’s just something about it. Your transitions were nicely pulled off (except for the sound), and I liked your color scheme. For content I can’t really judge on that since I don’t speak the language.
Bojan: The main preloader has an error. It says “LOADING”, but then once it is fully loaded the word “LOADED” appears overlapping the “LOADING” causing some cluttering text action. I can’t really say I understand what is up with the music duration time, time started viewing, time spent viewing, etc, etc. It just seemed like space fillers that are more like “look what I can do” than actually serving any purpose. The swoop sound effect in the transitions was very “in your face”. The site is simple and clean, but nothing that isn’t seen on a daily (or hourly) basis in the Flash world.
Gr0m: For me this site kind of says “new 2A look with old 2A layout”. And going by your previous site version this is a common trend for you ( http://www.hot.ee/gr0m/v2003/index.htm versus http://www.skyworksinc.com/ )
Mr Mass: Whats up with the times new roman in the main preloader when you enter the site (via the enter button). I also have to ask… what’s up with the clicks? It seems they happen every 2 seconds for no reason. Also the girl speaking before each section seemed very pointless to me and didn’t fit the site at all especially when she literally screaming “wake up” (or something of that sort). Other than that, I thought the site contained a nice simple layout, and have very nice transitions.
