go for it~but you made taht morpheus with your MOUSE!?! thats talent

its pretty cool, maybe a little more color wouldn’t hurt. but i loved your digital art section, and i’d love to see more work.(the morpheus was very cool)

To win SOTW you will need a spalsh page for one. You should also remove all your buttons that don’t have anything in them. IT makes you site look incompleate and the judges frown on this.

Navigation is ok. hen the site first loads put navigation instructions or button key or something over those three instruction buttons. I played with them for a while before i realozed what they where

Fonts where clean and readable. Content seemed layed out alright. You should make your e-mail more niticable and not hidding in your about us.

Content loaded fast but i would sugest adding a % bar under your spining logo. Just incase the user has a slow conection they will realy know how long it will take

Color scheme was good. The red isn’t blinding

Some sound might help the navigation a little. A falsh site always seems a little boring wiht out some sound on the buttons. Also a background sound with a on/off button might be nice. But have the bg sound set to off when the site loads. The judges like this. The button sound doesnt’ haveto be anythign loud. Just a nice quite sound to add to the site a bit.

The only other thing that might hurt you is the fact the site doesnt’ fit 800x600 . This is minor and most of your content does fit in the uper part of the window so i wouldnt’ worry about it.

All and all a pretty good site. It does look like it would ahve a shot at SOTW but it alwasy depends on who wlese submits. You never know a guy form 2advanced could submit the same week. lol you should do ok and even if you dont’ win you will get soem great feed back on how you can improve your site.

Good luck:)

Sintax: I disagree with you 100% here. I think you will find that most visitors will surf with their sound off, plus once you hear the sound a couple of times, they become extremely irritating. If the sound is not required to make the site complete, then I say don’t put any sounds on the site (plus it makes the file size much larger). I’m also not sure you need a splash page. Make your site stand on its own rights. You’ll notice HTML sites don’t have splash pages, so why does everyone think that Flash sites must have a splash page?

These are just my opinions, however.

Well not every one has flash instaled on there PC so it has become pretty standard practice to have one so the user knows and has the option to go get it.

And sound doens’t have to a dd to your file size at all. A button sound is like 1k and bg loops should be loaded externaly. Also with the sound set to deflaut off you arent even forcing them to download the bg music it is an option. I also suggested a quite subtle button sound. I agree with you most rollover sounds become anyoing because they havent’ been used right. They are loud and offesive to the ears.

When done right sound can be a big plus to a site with out being a big plus to the file size;)

If you use the correct HTML, then you don’t need a Splash page…

And yes, when done correctly, sound can do a lot for a site.

However, that said, a Flash site does not seem “boring” or “lacking” if they don’t use sounds…

And… how many people do you know who actually pay attention to file size, and whether to include sound or not? Not many that I have seen…

The things you speak of have become socially acceptable, but I don’t feel they are necessarily necessary…

Also, if you use sound to enhance the experience, then what about the people who don’t have speakers? Do they get the same experience?

Just some things to think about.

I just disagree with your statement that all Flash sites seem boring without sound…

You should include links to the websites in your portfolio, because… it is common sense!

mdipi.com … thanx  glad you like it

Replode … thank you  thats nice…

sintax321 … thanx !!!
many good pointers from you.
i have been thinkin alot about sound, should i have it ?
should i not ?.. i was afraid of overkilling the site with
too much “plings and plongs”… but possibly a
subtle little clikety click sound wouldnt hurt

navigation instructions is also a good idea to put
next to the 3 magnetic floating thingys at the start.

also the e-mail is good spoted…
thanx again for very good and
constructive chritisism !!

reverendflash ! thanx  !
i too try to keep the blinky/ploingy plong noice level down

Supree  thanx !
too bad most customers update ( ruin ) the sites them
self after its done. many times i’v experienced fine sites
just totaly wrect because of clients started to
“play” designers with it later on.

one other ting is ofcourse the fact that some sites is
not longer online. like the christmas calender event for
year 2000.

but dont wory, i will link to most of the flash design, i have
the fla’s so i will put them up lokaly.

thanx all for nice feedback.
