Site Suggestion and question!

Hi there
Please tell me your suggetions on this website I created…
www.vbourim.com

And can anyone tell me how I can modify Meta tags in dreamweaver or in my code?

Hay,

I did a site for an artist wishing to sell his artwork online once, and I went with a monochromatic color scheme like you did, I think this helps to keep the focus on the artwork being sold, so I think I know where you are coming from with that.

The design is simple and to the point, site wise here is what I see:

1.) The mouseover for Biography is a different color than that of the other 2 section, I don’t know if that is intentional or not.

2.) The mouseover for galleries shows the text as “Gallery”.

3.) The menu system overall seems inconsistent

a.) Once in the Biography section or Gallery 1 or 2 there is no Home button or any Button to get to another section

b.) When you click galleries, its branch of Gallery one and Gallery two, don’t stem from where the original Gallery button was. (Not a big deal though really)

c.) The home button has different colors for the mouseover in the two sections that actually have a home button

I’m sure you get the point though. I think if the menu system was better it would really make a difference, and by the way I would go with the grey not the black for the mouseovers:P

Good luck

Sorry forgot to answer your second question :stuck_out_tongue:

In Dreamweaver MX or Ultradev there should be a three buttons side by side.

one looks like “<>”, that is for seeing the HTML of your site

the other has the “<>” with a picture and text underneath, that is to see your code and the layout

and finally the last (the one you have on most likely) is just a picture with text you really cant read which is to see just the layout.

once you got the code visable, the meta tag should be at top

hope thats what you need

Ok got… menu…meta tags… Oh yeah one more thing, should I insert the meta-tags in to every page? Or just the main ones?

Okay Thanks Bro…

DeV brings up great points, and I agree with them.

I see that you’ve used the full sized images of his work in the
galleries as thumbnails. This is really bad because it slows down
load time tremendously. Just simply make the image smaller in
photoshop, or some other editor and make a real thumbnail instead. I’m on cable and it took a long time to show all of the
works.

If someone is browsing the galleries, you are basically saying that
they have to wait for every picture to load before they can see it,
even as a preview.

It’s not really efficient when you think about it, because most
people aren’t going to want to see every picture, so why make
them load them all first? It’s better if you’d let each one load in
full that they select with interest to see instead.

I like the site otherwise, good job! His art is really good too.

some of the graphix (i.e. the button images) look badly compressed and not sharp. and the navigation is a little weird.
But it’s not bad.
