Small tools stay understandable longer

I keep coming back to the idea that small-batch software ages better because its limits are visible. A giant all-in-one app can be impressive right up until you need one weird workflow and suddenly you’re hunting through five layers of settings and half a dozen half-used features.

Maybe the real tradeoff isn’t feature count vs simplicity, it’s whether the app still feels legible after six months of use. Has anyone found a big suite that actually stays pleasant once you live in it?
