Sometimes I wish I were in a video game!

So, when I go to the gym, I’ve always exercised on weights attached to a machine in some form or fashion. For the past couple of days, I’ve been trying to use free weights, and I find that I can lift only a fraction of the weights that I could when they were attached to a machine.

When benchpressing, I am able to lift only a 1/6 of what I could do on a benchpress machine where I didn’t have to worry about balancing/stabilizing the weights.

This is in complete contrast to Zelda where Link can lift increasingly heavier boulders and obstacles by getting better gloves. Why can’t real life be like that?

I would gladly give up the ability to jump over obstacles in exchange for lifting them instead.
